IGT Electrical Ltd Terms and Conditions
Terms applying to quotations and electrical services
Website: www.igtelectrical.com
Email: info@igtelectrical.com
These Terms and Conditions apply to quotations accepted and electrical services provided by IGT Electrical Ltd. The accepted quotation or other written agreement will set out the specific work, price and any project-specific arrangements. If there is a conflict, the project-specific written agreement will take priority.
1. Quotations and Acceptance
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
The quotation will specify the work included and the price payable. Any work not specifically included will be treated as additional work.
Acceptance of a quotation confirms that the customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
All prices will clearly state whether VAT is included or added separately.
2. Scope of Work
Work will be carried out according to the description provided in the accepted quotation or other written agreement.
The quotation is based on the information and access available when it is prepared.
If concealed defects, damaged wiring, unsafe conditions, non-compliances or other unforeseen circumstances are discovered, IGT Electrical Ltd will explain the issue and provide a price for any additional work required.
Additional chargeable work will not be carried out without the customer’s agreement, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to make the installation safe.
3. Deposits and Payment
Where specified in the quotation, a deposit will be required before materials are ordered or work is scheduled.
Deposits or staged payments may be required for larger projects and will be stated in the quotation.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due within seven days of the invoice date.
The customer should raise any genuine query concerning an invoice as soon as reasonably possible.
Accepted payment methods will be shown on the invoice.
4. Materials
Materials, labour, testing and certification are included only where stated in the accepted quotation.
Materials and equipment supplied by IGT Electrical Ltd will be suitable for their intended purpose.
Where a specified product is unavailable, an equivalent product may be proposed. Any material change will be discussed with the customer before installation.
IGT Electrical Ltd cannot accept responsibility for the quality, suitability, performance or manufacturer’s warranty of materials or equipment supplied by the customer. Additional time required because of unsuitable or faulty customer-supplied products may be chargeable.
5. Access and Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide reasonable access to the property, electrical installation and relevant working areas at the agreed time.
Work areas should be reasonably clear of furniture, stored items and other obstructions unless agreed beforehand.
The customer must inform IGT Electrical Ltd of any known hazards, asbestos, concealed services or restrictions that may affect the work.
Unless included in the quotation, making good, plastering, decorating, building work and the removal or replacement of furniture are excluded.
6. Dates and Delays
IGT Electrical Ltd will make reasonable efforts to attend and complete the work on the agreed dates.
Dates may need to be changed because of circumstances outside reasonable control, including illness, adverse weather, delayed materials, restricted access or unexpected site conditions.
The customer will be informed as soon as reasonably possible if a delay occurs.
7. Cancellation Rights
Where a consumer contract is agreed by telephone, email, online or away from IGT Electrical Ltd’s business premises, the customer may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.
If the customer asks for work to begin during the cancellation period, this request must be confirmed in writing. If the customer subsequently cancels after work has started, reasonable payment may be required for the work completed and costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.
If the service is completed in full during the cancellation period following the customer’s express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end once the service has been fully performed.
These provisions do not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
8. Inspection Testing and Certification
Inspection and testing will be carried out where required for the work undertaken.
Where applicable, the relevant electrical certificate or report will be issued following completion of the work.
Certification will relate only to the work inspected, tested or carried out by IGT Electrical Ltd.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report records the condition of the installation at the time of inspection and does not guarantee that faults will not develop later.
9. Existing Installations and Fault Finding
Existing electrical installations may contain concealed defects or non-compliances that cannot reasonably be identified before work or testing begins.
Fault-finding charges relate to the time spent investigating a fault and do not guarantee that every fault can be identified or repaired within the initial appointment.
If additional investigation, repair or remedial work is required, this will be explained and quoted separately.
Quality Standards
Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
All electrical work will be carried out in accordance with the current edition of BS 7671, including applicable amendments.
Where applicable, work will comply with Part P of the Building Regulations.
Where notifiable work is undertaken, IGT Electrical Ltd will arrange the appropriate notification through its registered competent person scheme.
IGT Electrical Ltd is registered with NAPIT as a Domestic Installer.
IGT Electrical Ltd holds Public Liability Insurance cover of up to £2 million and Professional Indemnity Insurance cover of up to £500,000.
Workmanship Guarantee
IGT Electrical Ltd guarantees its workmanship for 12 months from the date the relevant work is completed.
If a fault caused by IGT Electrical Ltd’s workmanship is reported during this period, it will be assessed and, where covered by the guarantee, rectified without charge.
This workmanship guarantee does not cover faults or damage caused by misuse, accidental or deliberate damage, normal wear and tear, failure of an existing installation, water ingress from an unrelated source, lack of maintenance, or alterations or repairs carried out by another person.
Materials and equipment supplied by IGT Electrical Ltd are covered by the relevant manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Customer-supplied materials and equipment are not covered by the IGT Electrical Ltd materials guarantee. Labour or additional visits required to replace a faulty customer-supplied product may be chargeable.
This guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not affect, the customer’s statutory rights.
Complaints
If the customer has a concern about the work or service provided, they should contact IGT Electrical Ltd as soon as reasonably possible and provide details of the issue.
IGT Electrical Ltd will investigate the matter and aim to provide a fair and reasonable resolution.
