Is your home still running on an outdated fuse box? Upgrading to a modern consumer unit is one of the best ways to improve electrical safety and bring your property in line with current regulations.

Our new units come equipped with RCBO(RCD) protection and surge protection as standard—helping to prevent electric shocks, reduce fire risk, and protect your valuable appliances.

Before installation, we carry out comprehensive safety testing on every circuit. This ensures your electrical system is in top condition and highlights any issues before work begins—giving you complete peace of mind.

ADVANTAGES OF RCBO CONSUMEER UNIT

Your new consumer unit will be a 14-way RCBO board with SPD (Surge Protection Device), compliant with the latest 18th edition regulations. Below is a brief explanation of the benefits and key differences compared to a traditional dual RCD unit:

RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent protection) boards provide individual protection for each circuit. This means if a fault occurs on one circuit (e.g., lighting or sockets), only that specific circuit will trip, leaving the rest of the house unaffected. In contrast, a dual RCD board can cause multiple circuits to shut down at once due to shared protection.

The unit will also include SPD protection, which safeguards your electrical system from power surges (e.g., lightning strikes or grid fluctuations), adding an extra layer of safety for your appliances.

The new board will be housed in a metal enclosure, which significantly reduces the risk of fire compared to older plastic boards currently installed in many homes
